By accessing or using BillSnap ("the App"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Use and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree to these Terms, do not download, install, or use the App.

Eligibility

• You must be at least 18 years old to use BillSnap
• If you are under 18, you may only use the App with parental or guardian consent
• You must comply with all applicable laws and regulations in your jurisdiction

2. License and Use

License Grant

Subject to your compliance with these Terms, we grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to:

• Download and install the App on your personal mobile device
• Use the App for personal, non-commercial purposes
• Access and use features available in your subscription tier

License Restrictions

You agree NOT to:

• Copy, modify, or create derivative works of the App
• Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the App
• Remove any proprietary notices or labels
• Use the App for commercial purposes without authorization
• Rent, lease, lend, sell, or redistribute the App
• Use the App to violate any laws or regulations
• Interfere with or disrupt the App's operation

3. Subscription and Payments

Free Version

• Access to core features
• Limited to 5 active bills
• No payment required
• No time limit

Premium Subscription

• Monthly: $2.99 per month (USD)
• Annual: $19.99 per year (USD) - Save 44%
• Features: Unlimited bills, recurring bills, calendar view, PDF upload, data export
• Billing: Charged monthly or annually through your App Store or Google Play account
• Auto-Renewal: Subscription automatically renews unless canceled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period
• Your account will be charged for renewal within 24 hours prior to the end of the current subscription period.

Free Trial

• Premium features may be offered with a free trial period
• Trial length will be specified at sign-up
• Cancel anytime during trial to avoid charges
• After trial, subscription automatically converts to paid unless canceled

Payment Processing

• iOS: Payments processed through Apple App Store
• Android: Payments processed through Google Play Store
• You agree to the payment terms of the respective app store
• All prices are in USD unless otherwise specified
• Prices may vary by region and are subject to applicable taxes

Cancellation

• Cancel your subscription anytime through your App Store or Google Play account settings
• Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period
• No refunds for partial months or unused time
• After cancellation, you revert to Free version limitations

Refund Policy

• All purchases are subject to Apple's and Google's refund policies
• Request refunds through your App Store or Google Play account
• We do not process refunds directly
• Refund decisions are at the sole discretion of Apple or Google

4. User Content and Data

Your Data Ownership

• You retain all ownership rights to your bill data, photos, and content
• Your data is stored locally on your device
• We do not claim any ownership of your data
• You are responsible for maintaining your own data backups

Data Responsibility

• You are solely responsible for the accuracy of data you enter
• You must ensure you have rights to any photos or documents you upload
• Do not upload content that violates others' rights or applicable laws

Data Loss

• We are not responsible for any loss of data
• Data may be lost if you uninstall the app or reset your device
• Use the export feature to create backups of your data

5. Intellectual Property

Our Rights

BillSnap and all related materials are owned by us and protected by intellectual property laws:

• App design, code, and functionality
• Trademarks, logos, and branding
• Documentation and marketing materials
• OCR algorithms and features

Feedback

If you provide feedback, suggestions, or ideas about the App:

• You grant us a perpetual, worldwide, royalty-free license to use them
• We have no obligation to use or implement your feedback
• We have no obligation to compensate you for feedback

6. Disclaimer of Warranties

THE APP IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND.

We expressly disclaim all warranties, including but not limited to:

• Accuracy: OCR results may not be 100% accurate
• Reliability: The App may experience downtime or errors
• Fitness for Purpose: The App may not meet all your specific needs
• Compatibility: May not work on all devices or OS versions
• Data Integrity: No guarantee against data loss or corruption

No Financial Advice

• BillSnap is a tool for organizing bills, not financial advice
• We are not responsible for missed payments or financial consequences
• Always verify bill amounts and due dates independently
• Consult financial professionals for financial advice

7. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, WE SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR:

• Any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages
• Loss of profits, data, or business opportunities
• Missed payments or late fees resulting from App use
• Damages resulting from OCR inaccuracies
• Data loss or corruption
• Device damage or malfunction

MAXIMUM LIABILITY: If we are found liable, our total liability shall not exceed the amount you paid for the App in the 12 months preceding the claim (maximum $35.88 for monthly or $19.99 for annual Premium subscription).

8. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless BillSnap, its developers, and affiliates from any claims, damages, or expenses arising from:

• Your use or misuse of the App
• Your violation of these Terms
• Your violation of any laws or third-party rights
• Your uploaded content or data

9. Termination

Termination by You

• Uninstall the App from your device anytime
• Cancel your subscription through app store settings
• Your data is deleted when you uninstall the App

Termination by Us

We may terminate or suspend your access if:

• You violate these Terms
• You engage in fraudulent or illegal activity
• Required by law or legal process
• We discontinue the App (with reasonable notice)

Effect of Termination

• Your license to use the App ends immediately
• You must cease all use and delete the App
• No refunds for remaining subscription time
• All data stored locally will be lost upon uninstallation

10. App Updates and Changes

We reserve the right to:

• Update, modify, or discontinue the App or features
• Change subscription pricing with 30 days notice
• Add or remove features
• Update these Terms (with notification)

Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance of the new Terms.

11. Third-Party Services

App Stores

• Downloaded from Apple App Store or Google Play Store
• Subject to app store terms and policies
• Apple and Google are not responsible for the App
• Apple and Google have no warranty obligations

Device Functionality

BillSnap relies on device features:

• Camera: For capturing bill photos
• Photo Library: For importing images
• Notifications: For bill reminders
• ML Kit/Vision Framework: For OCR processing

We are not responsible for device or OS functionality issues.

12. Privacy and Data Protection

Your use of BillSnap is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which describes:

• How we handle your data (locally on your device)
• What permissions we require and why
• Your privacy rights
• GDPR and CCPA compliance

13. Geographic Restrictions

• BillSnap is available worldwide through app stores
• You are responsible for complying with local laws
• Some features may not be available in all regions
• Currency support may vary by region

14. Dispute Resolution

Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the United States and the State of Texas, without regard to conflict of law principles.

Arbitration

Any disputes shall be resolved through binding arbitration rather than court:

• Arbitration conducted under American Arbitration Association (AAA) rules
• Individual disputes only (no class actions)
• Arbitration costs shared equally or per AAA rules
• Arbitration location: Texas

Exceptions to Arbitration

You may bring claims in small claims court if they qualify.

Class Action Waiver

You agree to bring claims individually, not as part of a class action, consolidated action, or representative action.

15. Apple-Specific Terms

For users who download BillSnap from the Apple App Store:

• This license is between you and BillSnap, not Apple
• Apple is not responsible for the App or its content
• Apple has no warranty obligations
• Apple is not responsible for maintenance or support
• Apple is not liable for any claims related to the App
• Apple is a third-party beneficiary of these Terms
• Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries and may enforce these Terms

16. Google Play-Specific Terms

For users who download BillSnap from Google Play:

• You agree to Google Play's Terms of Use
• Google is not responsible for the App
• Purchases through Google Play are subject to Google's payment terms

17. Miscellaneous

Entire Agreement

These Terms and our Privacy Policy constitute the entire agreement between you and BillSnap.

Severability

If any provision is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions remain in effect.

Waiver

Failure to enforce any provision does not waive our right to enforce it later.

Assignment

You may not assign these Terms. We may assign them to any successor or affiliate.

Force Majeure

We are not liable for delays or failures due to circumstances beyond our reasonable control.

Survival

Provisions that should reasonably survive termination will survive (warranties, liability limitations, indemnification, dispute resolution).
